Music Saturday: The xx

We're both away over the weekend so that's why we're posting this a day earlier. I hope you guys won't mind, enjoy!

Every week again... we're presenting another album of bands or singers we currently love. This week: The xx - xx

The xx are an English indie pop band founded in London in 2005. Their debut album, xx, was releases in August 2009. It was received real good and placed number one on the 'best of 2009' list by The Guardian and ninth on the Rolling Stone list. In 2010, the band won the Mercury Music Prize for this album. On 10 September 2012, their second album was released, Coexist.

The members of the band (Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith) met at Elliott School, the same school that produced Hot Chop, Burial, Four Tet and many more. Oliver Sim and Romy Madley-Croft started the band as a duo when they were 15. Baria Qureshi joined as a guitarist once they began performing in 2005 (left the band in 2009) and last but not least Jamie Smith joined after a year.
