Music Saturday - Santigold

Every week again... we're presenting another album of bands or singers we currently love. This week: Santigold - Master of my Make-Believe

Master of My Make-Believe is the second studio album by American recording artist Santi White, better known by her stage name Santigold. Her debut album Santogold was released to positive reviews in 2008. Her second album Master of My Make-Believe was released in April 2012, also to critical acclaim. The cover art representing three incarnations of Santigold was designed by Jason Schmidt.

The record was produced with a wide range of different collaborators and producers including longtime friends like Switch and Diplo, as well as David Andrew Sitekof TV on the Radio and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Master of My Make-Believe was preceded by two singles: "Big Mouth" and "Disparate Youth". The song "Go" (featuring Karen O) premiered in April 2011, but was not available for purchase until the album was released in 2012. The album earned Santigold her first number one on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and it reached number twenty-one on the US Billboard 200 and number thirty-three on the UK Albums Chart. In May 2012, Santigold posted a photo on Instagram from the set of the video for "The Keepers", announcing it would be the next single. "The Keepers" was released on iTunes on June 22, 2012.
