Every week again... we're presenting another album of bands or singers we currently love. This week: The Princess - Parov Stelar.
Parov Stelar Band |
His first
release, KissKiss EP, provided an immediate breakthrough on the internation
electronic music scene. After
starting as a solo artist and gaining initial success, in 2005 Parov Stelar
began to perform live sets with a full band. The collaboration with four (later
five) musicians and a vocalist had a very noticeable influence on his work.
His
retro-influenced music is borne out of an aura of elegance, wickedness and pure
energy, inspired by styles and samples from the most varying of genres (soul,
pop, jazz and swing) and combined with modern beats and grooves creates an
incomparable and peerles sound.
On April 20th 2012, Parov Stelars long-awaited new double album "The Princess" was released, being is eight album. It perfectly sums up his musical development without neglecting his roots.
I really like this album because it's so varied. I heard this CD for the first time when I was studying together with Julia last year. After listening for 5 minutes, I fell in love with this music. In the mean time, I've listened to his CDs for sooo many times and it seems they get better every time :) I enjoy listening to the calm songs while I'm studying but some other time I put on my headphones and just enjoy some relaxing time listening to the album!
